The samplebase project (from Ilio) has been up and running for about a year and I was thrilled to be in at the start. It is a new business model for sample sales so it will take time to establish and I hope Ilio are taking the long view in supporting it, as even though sales are modest I am still convinced about the format for both independent music creators and users.
I asked Ralph Godden of babkubwa.com to put together a track using the string samples I supplied for samplebase – Platinum Strings. I didn’t interfere, I just wanted him to use them how he wanted. Here’s his finished track (a big thank you to Ralph!). Hope he gets plenty more use out of the sample sets.
